About Aim High LTC
I spent nearly 21 years in the Air Force where I both worked on the flight line in my early days, to training pilots and aviators on the physiological effects of altitude and G-forces in the second half of my career. I then embarked on an extensive education and while in the brutally long hiring process for Customs and Border Protection, I decided to leverage a passion for the 2nd Amendment into a side hustle.
In the middle of all of that, I was the General Manager of one of San Antonio’s premier gun ranges/stores. I successfully cultivated relationships with my customers and employees. What I discovered in that position was a love for relationship building with the customers. I loved learning my clients needs, educating them on the possibilities, and helping them make the best decision through experience and teaching. Despite being the GM, I loved helping customers as much as I could, whether in the shooting bays or on the sales floor.
My mission is to help you better exercise your 2nd Amendment Rights through education and training in accordance with current laws and regulations to become proficient, compitent and confident. We all agree that the 2nd Amendment was not supposed to be infringed, but we have to abide by the regulations as currently written until we can impart change.
I am DPS/TX State Certified to teach the LTC Course as well as an NRA Certfied Firearms Instructor
Texas License To Carry
We offer multiple solutions for your Texas License To Carry including either In-Person or Online. These are State Approved Courses taught by State Approved Instructors. The online course you can take right from the comfort of your own home, anytime, day or night. The online LTC class works on all devices including your smartphone. There is no need to spend all day sitting in a crowded classroom on a Saturday. You can get certified online at your own pace.
However, If you prefer to get the personal attention and instruction of the in-person course, we offer that as well. I’m retired military and in the process of becoming a Federal Law Enforcement Officer. I’m also in partnership with a private range who also hosts classes. He’s retired military and retired SAPD. We’re working together as I build my business up. We have decades of firearm experience to help you become proficient, confident and competent! If there are no classes scheduled, and you have a date in mind, send an e-mail to Chris (me) through the “Contact Us” page, and we’ll see what we can accommodate. We need 4 students minimum to host a course, so it’s best to have a little advance notice to get students signed up. I have access to two private ranges as well as a couple of public ranges where we can do the range qualification. I’m willing to teach one on one, but that would be a special exception. Just shoot me an e-mail and lets see what we can work out!
Benefits of a Texas LTC
-
Reciprocity: This is a big one. An LTC allows you to carry in many more states. Texas has reciprocity agreements with a significant number of other states, meaning your LTC is recognized as a carry permit in those places.
-
Carry in more places: The Texas LTC allows you to carry in a lot more places including, school zones, school parking lots, collage campuses “including in buildings”, past no carry “gun buster” signs, hospitals, nursing homes and more.
-
Potential legal advantages: An LTC might offer some additional legal protection in self-defense situations. While the laws are complex, having an LTC demonstrates you’ve received training on firearms safety and Texas law.
-
Faster firearm purchases: LTC holders are exempt from background checks when buying guns from a dealer.
-
Demonstrates responsible gun ownership: An LTC shows you’ve gone through the process of education and background checks. This can be a positive if you’re ever questioned by law enforcement.
- Trespass Protection: If you carry past a no carry sign they must give you an opportunity to leave the building before you can be charged.
